About Freedom Boat Club

Welcome to Freedom Boat Club Canandaigua Lake! "The Chosen Spot"!

The Finger Lakes in Upstate NY represent one of the area's greatest natural resources, offering an abundance of boating and recreational activities. The new Freedom Boat Club of Canandaigua is the one and ONLY boat club at Seager Marina.  It's located at the north end of the lake on the city pier and less than 30 minutes from most suburbs of Rochester. This makes it ideal for getting out on the water quickly and starting your day of fun.

We Make it Simple!

Freedom Boat Club Canandaigua offers one of the easiest ways to enjoy boating. When you arrive you are greeted by FBC dock staff who help you load your gear on your selected boat. When you return, FBC Dock staff will help you tie up, check you in and you are on your way to your next activity. With Freedom Boat Club, 100% of your time is spent enjoying the water. You don't have any of the hassles of owning a boat like paying for depreciation, insurance and docking fees, or dealing with maintenance and winter storage.

About Canandaigua Lake

The name Canandaigua is derived from the Seneca name which means "the chosen spot", and once you visit you'll understand why. Canandaigua Lake is the fourth largest of the Finger Lakes, and the City of Canandaigua is located at the northern end, making it easy to spend time on the water and in town.

The lake is 15.5 miles long, 1.5 miles wide, and has a shoreline of 35.9 miles. It is known for its water quality and is ideal for all types of water activities. The lake's water is well-oxygenated, allowing fish to live in both shallow and deep areas, creating a great recreational fishery. In fact the water is so clear, is allows visibility of the bottom up to 30 to 50 feet (9.1 to 15.2 m) below the surface.
